IIT Roorkee

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee : The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT- Roorkee or IIT- R) is a technical institute and is the oldest engineering Institution in India. It was founded as the College of Civil Engineering in 1847 during East India Company rule in India by James Thomason. After his death in 1854 it was renamed as the Thomason College of Civil Engineering by Proby Cautley. It was again renamed University of Roorkee in 1949 and finally IIT Roorkee in 2001.

Eligibility 

The candidates must adhere to the following criteria:

1. Passed XII standard examination or equivalent 
2. Mandatory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics 
3. Qualify JEE Main and JEE Advanced
4. Aggregate marks of 75% (65% for PwD candidates) in XII standard

1.  Students must appear for JEE Main
2.  They must qualify to JEE Advanced w
3.  After the result are out must seat for the JoSAA counseling 
4.  Seat is allocated based on JEE Advanced Scores and the category of the students.
