IIT Guwahati

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati : The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT- Guwahati) is a public institute of technology and is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established, officially recognized as an Institute of National Importance. It was established in 1994 by an act of parliament and commenced academically in 1995. Its origin can be found in the 1985 Assam Accord signed between All Assam Students Union and the Government of India which mentions improvement of educational facilities specifically setting up of an IIT.

Eligibility 

The candidates must adhere to the following criteria:

1. Passed XII standard examination or equivalent 
2.  Mandatory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics 
3.  Qualify JEE Main and JEE Advance
4.  Aggregate marks of 75% (65% for PwD candidates) in XII standard 

Selection Process 

1.  Students must appear for JEE Main
2.  They must qualify for the JEE Advanced, which is specifically for admission into IITs.
3.  After the result are out must seat for the JoSAA counseling and choose IIT Guwahati 
4.  Seat is allocated based on the JEE Advanced rank
5.  Selected candidates have to submit their original documents for verification and pay the fee for confirmation of admission.
