GAT Exam: GITAM Admission Test(GAT) is the main exam conducted by the university for Admission into B.Tech courses in 4 phases. GAT is used for admissions to the B.Tech programs at GITAM across various campuses, including Visakhapatnam.

GAT 2025: The entrance exam is in its 4th Phase. The application deadline for Phase 4 is 5 June, 2025. Eligible aspirants can apply for the test via online on their official website.

• Personal Interview: 8 June, 2025
• Result Announcement: 8 June, 2025
• Last Date for Payment of Fees for Scholarship Students: 15 June, 2025
• Last Date for Admission: 24 June, 2025

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible, the following should be met-

1. The candidate should obtain 50% or 5.0 CGPA aggregate marks in Intermediate OR 10+2 examination from a recognized central/ state board
2. Subjects: Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/ Biology subjects
3. Students scoring between 50-60% must at least one of the following to be eligible:
4. a) Score over 42%e. 85/200 in GAT and over 75% in X Standard
5. b) Score over 55%e. 110/200 in GAT
6. c) Score over 85% in X Standard

Additionally, such students must sign a waiver in case companies require 60% or more in Intermediate or XII standard during placements.

About B.Tech Placements: In 2022, 2200 out of 3390 students secured placements with a median package of INR 4.80 LPA . There has been a rise of 66.6% in median packages since 2022.

B tech Application Form 

Candidates can submit their Application online on the official university website.

1. Students can login in through the official website of the university 
2. Click the Registration button to open the registration page
3. After registering, the candidates can fill out the application form
4. Applicants are required to provide basic personal, professional and academic details and upload the required documents 
5. The application fee for B.Tech programs per course is Rs. 1200. 
6. Candidates can apply for more than one course. The fee for two different groups is Rs. 2400
7. After registration, applicants can download their admit cards from the official website.

Scholarship : GITAM allows for a combination of Scholarships up to 75%, prioritizing merit and management Scholarships.

GITAM provides varied range of scholarships:

1. Merit- Based Scholarship: for top-performing students available in slabs of 100%, 75%, 60%, 40%, 25% and 15% of tuition fees 
2. Need- Based Scholarship: additional financial support for students from low-income families.
3. CRPF Scholarship: 2 free seats in the Engineering stream across its three campuses for families of CRPF personnel
4. Indian Navy Scholarship: 100% tuition waiver for upto two wards of Naval personnel who have died in service and 75% and 50% concessions for others based on their service status 
5. Employee Children Scholarship: 60%, 40% and 20% scholarship options available based on employee status 
6. Loyalty Scholarship: A 10% concession for alumni returning for Higher studies, siblings, Children of alumni and spouses of employees 
7. Sports Scholarship– 100% Education fee coverage and hostel fee waivers ranging from 100% to 50% for those excelling both in classrooms and in sports.
